JMU’s interdisciplinary center cultivating viable student ventures

Students involved with the Center for Entrepreneurship at JMU are winning top competitions because of interdisciplinary collaboration across campus.

Since January 2017, students have benefited from the expertise and guidance of mobile and internet media pioneer Patrick McQuown, who is sharing his 20-plus years of experience as a startup entrepreneur.

Since McQuown joined JMU as executive director of the center, students from many of the university’s colleges have been gaining valuable firsthand experience in startup development, pitching to acquire investors and collaboration as they explore the world of successful business ventures.
